Another Pin’spired project..
Cardboard letters – I used 8 inch letters and got them from Hobbycraft
Selection of heavy duty handmande paper – I purchased mine from ebay
Acrylic paint – to cover side and rear
Ribbon, nylon thread etc – to decorate
First step is to choose several coordinating papers. To keep things simple, I decided to stick to one pattern per letter. Now on the paper trace the alphabet with a pencil. This is your guide for how much and what shape to cut out.
Once the letters are cut out, apply a coat of glue to the back of the paper cut out or directly onto the cardboard letter then place the paper directly onto the cardboard letter. Press down to secure the paper to the letter.
Now, in matching colour (as in paper) paint the sides with acrylic paint.
If you follow my blog, you now I am bit obsessed with giving outline to everything – so I decorated my letters further with braided twine, nylon threads and ribbon – this step is completely optional.
Finally, find a lovely place to display the letters! Maybe on a bookshelf, study table, or in your craft room.
