There is an artist named Elle Luna who hosts an annual project called #the100dayproject. The idea is, you do something creative every day for 100 days and share on social media with a unique (for your challenge) hashtag.
Like every year this project started and was showing up on my Instagram feed from people taking the challenge. I went back and forth for about two weeks, deciding if I should join. Then on day 18th day I decided to join.
but the question was “What do I really need these next 100 days?”
Ahh: lettering. I always wanted to improve my lettering skills and had taken a faux calligraphy course on Skillshare and this would be a great challenge that would motivate me to practice it everyday. I also like to collect quotes so it made perfect sense to letter quotes and share on Instagram.

I decided to join in on the challenge on day 18, and for 82 days. I wrote and shared a quote on Instagram with the hashtag #100daysofletteringcc. While it was fun to do the challenge, I feel like I didn’t push myself creatively. It could be because I started on day 18th and technically didn’t do the challenge for 100 days.
Quotes were easy to find (I already have a collection) and it mostly took less than 5 minutes to letter. That said, I learnt some new techniques, practiced the styles I knew already – which is kind of granted when you are doing something for months you are forced to learn new stuff.
I also gained a few new followers and found like-minded creatives to follow 🙂 I already have some ideas on what I am going to do next year. Did you take part in the #the100dayproject?
